Goals: long term and short term

I've decided to write down some hard goals, with fixed timelines. My short term goal is to be at 175 lbs by the end of April. I think this is possible - I'm hovering around 178 right now. I will then have monthly goals of 5 lbs through the end of the year - which should leave me at 135 lbs at the end of December. For my height, that should be attainable - in fact I spent several years at that weight with this same height.

I know, I know - there's a difference between 135 lbs and 30% body fat and 145 lbs and 10% bodyfat - the latter would actually be better. But I don't really have a particular body fat % goal, so I'm not really sure of the actual goal weight - but 135 is my aim for now. I'd like to be 25% body fat or less. I'll be extremely happy even if I only get to 150 lbs (last I tried, I got to 155 lbs and was very happy), but I think I'm in a better position to shoot for a better goal this time around.

Once I hit 135 (or something comparable but with possibly less body fat % - you know what I mean, something that actually looks fit), the goal is to maintain, maintain, maintain! So much easier if you don't let it get out of hand in the first place. Also once I hit my goal weight, I'm throwing out all my bigger clothes and getting a new wardrobe, so I won't be able to be lax about maintaining. That plus, it'll be so fun to actually fit the stuff I like in stores.

So, onward with the goal attaining! Come on 2008, 2007 is sure an easy year to beat!
